Mixed Media: Paint, Print, Collage with Maria Malatesta

In this one-day, weekend workshop with artist Maria Malatesta, we will “combine” a variety of materials that may include prints, paint, drawings and papers to create unique and personal paintings.

There will be demonstrations of different ways to print with a gelli plate on various papers. Water-based paint will be used to build layers and integrate the prints and other papers into the piece. You may also want to write or scribble!

Bring lots of papers old and new, photographs, old letters, pages of books and other found materials that interest you. This is a fun day of exploration where staying open and playing are encouraged.

Materials will include gelli plate, image transfer, drawing and painting materials, collage and various mediums.
