Layers in Mixed Media | Workshop

Workshop Cost: $225 for RNAC members; $285 for nonmembers

In this three-day workshop with artist Maria Malatesta, we will create paintings that combine printing, drawing, image transfers, paint or collage. There will be demonstrations of different ways to print with a gelli plate using a variety of papers and how to make image transfers. We will use water-based paint to build layers that create transparency and opacity.

Drawing materials include charcoal, conti, graphite, pastel. Bring what you like to work with! The addition of collage and photographic transfers may be layered into the work. This is a fun class where exploration, staying open and “play” will be encouraged.
