Getting Abstract with Watercolor
Two-Day Class: October 28 and 29, 10:30am-3:00pm each day
Artist Tamara Krendel comes to Rocky Neck to share her unique style and seasoned teaching method. Enjoy beautiful
surprises that come with washy, atmospheric colors as they inform new ways of seeing subject matter. Take things as abstract as you feel comfortable with and learn plenty on the way.
- On Day One, the class will create ink washes from simple forms to get comfortable with light and dark as well as composition.
- On Day Two, the focus will be on painting a colorful still life with water colors.

About the teacher: Tamara received her BFA and MFA from the University of Pennsylvania. She pursued independent, post-graduate studies in Antwerp. Along the way, she has been granted permission to paint in the King’s The Royal Glasshouses, and has copied Jan van Eyck’s Madonna of the Fountain at the Royal Museum of Fine Arts, Antwerp.
