Connecting Creativity and Community
Join local interdisciplinary artist Miranda Aisling (ash-lean) in an intimate folk concert at the Cultural Center at Rocky Neck on Saturday, December 7, at 6:00 PM. Aisling will be joined by talented musicians Matt Lefebvre on bass and Phil Benjamin on guitar, adding rich layers to her evocative folk sound.
Tickets are available on a sliding scale from $5 to $25, ensuring everyone has access to this community event. All ticket holders receive equal entry, and guests are encouraged to support as they are able. Tickets can be purchased at this link.
Aisling has called Gloucester home for five years, first experiencing the city as one of the inaugural artists-in-residence at the Manship Artists Retreat. With deep roots in Cape Ann’s creative community, she spent the past four years as Head of Education & Engagement at the Cape Ann Museum, where she curated seven exhibitions and presented an impressive 1,620 events for 45,200 attendees. Thanks to the support of local artists, Aisling has both a music and painting studio en route to Rocky Neck and a ceramics studio in Lanesville.
Starting her musical journey by teaching herself guitar at the age of seven, Aisling’s original folk songs blend frank vulnerability with insightful social commentary. A classically trained pianist who shifted from Bach to the Indigo Girls, she brings the lively spirit of a folk festival to her performances, engaging audiences with a mix of sung and spoken storytelling.
