2-Day Workshop with Artist Helen Troy
Does it seem like everyone has an adored pet these days? That’s because they do! Artist Helen Tory will help us capture the personality of animals. We’ll be working from photographs – and working toward a fund-raising Pet Portrait Sale later in the fall.
This will be a fun gathering for animal lovers, to explore ways of capturing individual character and movement. We’ll learn from each other, loosening up with large scale free mark making/drawings from photos of dogs and cats and other animals. For your finished pieces you will use your own photos, printed out or on your device, of yours or a friend’s pet. You could use pastels, watercolor or acrylic, or think of a charcoal portrait.
We’ll also be looking at classic and contemporary artists’ interpretations. As you will discover, anything goes, from cartoons to realism. From drawing you can move on to color.
No experience is necessary. This is for anyone.
