About the Rocky Neck Art Colony
The Rocky Neck Art Colony is a non-profit arts organization comprised of artists, businesses, and community members whose mission is to create, support, and celebrate excellence and free expression in the arts on Rocky Neck and beyond.
The primary mission of the Rocky Neck Art Colony is to build a community
of artists and supporters of the arts on Rocky Neck and beyond
who come together to create, support and celebrate excellence and
free expression in the arts
In the spirit of this mission the Rocky Neck Art Colony, Inc.
accepts the responsibilities:
- To encourage free expression in all art forms including but
not limited to painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media,
and crafts working in all media.
- To extend the diversity of artistic styles and genres on and
about Rocky Neck.
- To respect and promote the artistic traditions of excellence
that arose on Rocky Neck in the middle of the nineteen century
while at the same time understanding the necessity to be exploratory
in interpreting these roots in the context of contemporary culture.
- To provide educational opportunities and other support for
artists and student artists working in diverse styles and media
including workshops, exhibitions and residencies for the educational
benefit of artists and the general public.
- To assist in the professional development and artistic growth
of the members of the Rocky Neck Art Colony.
- To work with neighbors and commercial establishments on Rocky
Neck and Cape Ann for the promotion of the arts.
