I have lived all my life close to nature. My love of working in ceramics, especially birthing raku ware in smoke and flame, lies in the dynamic connection to the elements of earth, wind, fire and water that I experience in the creation of my work.
I have always had great interest in cultural anthropology. My ceramics are a fusion of Native American, Japanese and contemporary Western techniques, processes and forms. I use these techniques to create art pieces, high-fire functional wares and jewelry.
