A painter of still-life and landscapes, Lorrie’s paintings express a life-long creative disposition, and keen fascination and talent for handwork.  Her paintings seek to encourage your imagination in sensing the ambiance of a scene, were you to step through the frame. During winter months she focuses on still-life painting, and enjoys painting en plein-air in more temperate seasons, in particular the land and seascapes of the Cape Ann area of Massachusetts.

Lorrie’s style in oil painting employs soft, warm tones to evoke the peacefulness of her subject matter. In acrylics, she embraces brighter, more vivid colors to achieve the tonality and visual interest she seeks.  Encouraged by her studies with Zig Jankowski and Su Guest-McPhail, Lorrie has also ventured into more abstract works.

Lorrie’s art education includes the study of oil painting and pastels at Montserrat College of Art, and color theory and drawing at the Boston Architectural Center.

Lorrie is an exhibiting artist member with the Rocky Neck Art Colony, the Guild of Beverly Artists and the Newburyport Art Association. She has received numerous awards for her work, and has exhibited at the Rockport and Northshore Art Associations, as well as several other venues throughout New England.  Lorrie was also selected to exhibit at the Deval Patrick inaugural celebration at Merrimack College in Andover MA.
